Quaker Meetings in North Wales

Welcome
A Quaker Meeting for Worship is held regularly in Porthmadog on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, at 11 a.m. in Ebeneser Chapel, Stryd Wesla, Porthmadog LL49 9BT. We are easy to find, behind the public library – look for “Q” signs on the wall. On the 1st Thursday at 7.30 p.m. there is an opportunity to meet at the home of one of our members near Dolwyddelan, for a short meeting followed by discussion; please ring to check before coming - tel. 01690 750231.
Are you looking for space to reflect quietly with others of like mind? You may find it in our small meeting. You don’t have to believe anything, nor say anything nor do anything – just sit quietly for an hour (or less if you wish) and meditate on what is most important to you. You may find the silence helps you to relax from the stress of a busy life or it may raise questions for you to ponder. Quakers believe there is an essential goodness in everyone to which we can respond, and that this is accessible to us in the living silence of a meeting for worship. We come from a range of Christian and other traditions. Our meetings begin in silence; generally there is a reading and sometimes someone may be moved to speak.
If you feel this way of worship might help you on your spiritual path, whether or not you believe in ‘God’, do come and try it out. You will be very welcome. For further information, please ring Del Yale on 01766 513907 or Abigail King on 01590 750231.
